Biography

Congresswoman Mimi Walters represents the 45th Congressional District of California and currently serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure. She previously served in the California State Senate from 2008 - 2014, representing California's 37th District of the California State Senate.  

Having previously served two, two-year terms in the State Assembly, Walters was overwhelmingly elected to the State Senate in 2008, and reelected in 2012. 

Congresswoman Walters possesses a background in both business and local government. Her professional career has included time with the firm of Drexel, Burnham & Lambert as an Investment Executive; subsequently she joined Kidder Peabody & Company.

Marian Elaine "Mimi" Walters (née Krogius; born May 14, 1962, Pasadena, California) is an Americanbusinesswoman and politician. Under the Republican Party, she was a U.S. Representative in California's 45th congressinal district.[1]

Before running for the office, Walters was an investment banker between 1988 and 1995. Walters was later the chairwoman under the Laguna Niguel Investment and Banking Committee. Walters did two terms under the Laguna Niguel City Council between 1996 and 2004. Walters was the mayor in 2000.[2] She was elected mayor again later that year.
