Elga Andersen was a German actress and singer born February 2, 1935 in Dortmund and died December 7, 1994 in New York. She came from a family of modest origins, but her passion for performance quickly led her to the international artistic scenes. Elga’s parents were Hans and Helene Andersen, German workers. Elga also had an older brother, Kurt, who was also passionate about theater and music. At a young age, Elga showed remarkable artistic talents, particularly in singing and dancing, which were encouraged by her family. Although she had no formal training, Elga quickly attracted the attention of casting directors for her natural talent and exotic beauty. 

She made her stage debut at the age of 17 and was later cast in roles in renowned German theater productions. It was in 1959 that Elga gained international attention with her role in the film “Nazarin” by Mexican director Luis Buñuel. This role earned him numerous accolades and awards, propelling his career to a global level. She then worked in the United States,

Elga Andersen (de nombre Helga Hymen o Hymmen) (2 de febrero de 1935 - 7 de diciembre de 1994) fue una actriz y cantante alemana. Protagonizó más de una docena de películas francesas en los años cincuenta y sesenta y también debutó como artista discográfica en los años cincuenta.[1]​ Ella interpretó las canciones "Treu sein" and "Sündenlied" En la película Los Cañones de Navarone de 1961, y coprotagonizó la película de Steve McQueen de 1971 Le Mans.
