Former Zanu Pf resident minister for Manicaland Mandy Chimene is a living example of riches to rags and that nothing lasts forever. The former minister who is currently exiled in Mozambique has hit hard times. She is surviving on selling plain buns, a far cry from the lavish lifestyle she was accustomed to as a minister during the Mugabe era.
Mandy was recorded looking shabby and a bit delusional as she woffled down a bun. Her appearance was the total opposite of the former Zanu loyalist that people knew.
Mandy, like other Mugabe loyalists, fled the country after the 2017 coup that toppled Mugabe’s reign. She went into exile in Mozambique and has been living there ever since. Tough times have however befallen the former minister and most people pitied her pathetic life.
Mandy was closely allied to the former first family. Mandi Chimene is the former Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister. She is also former Makoni South member of parliament as well as chairperson of the Zimbabwe-China Friendship Association. Chimene was expelled from Zanu PF in November 2017 after the 2017 Coup. Operation Restore Legacy.

Marriage: To Claudius Mukandiwa.[1] She is also the chairperson of the Zimbabwe-China Friendship Association.

Secondary:St Josephs High School. She dropped out at Form 3. Speaking at the official opening of the Jibilika Dance Festival in Mutare, 26 August 2016, Chimene disclosed her academic qualifications,
I am here because I knew and pursued what or where I am best at. I went to Zamula for my primary and went to St Josephs for my secondary education up to Form Three, but I am now a Minister of State. Don’t condemn yourself. You can be a star from wherever you are. Just know what you are good at and work on it.

Man By Staff Reporter Mutare: Self-exiled former Manicaland Provincial Affairs Minister Mandi Chimene could be forced to abandon her Mozambican hideout anytime soon following Friday’s passing on of her 35-year-old daughter, Ellen Zimondi. Zimondi, according to sources, had been admitted at the privately owned Murambi Gardens Clinic in Mutare over a two week period suffering from an undisclosed ailment. In July this year, Zimondi appeared before a local magistrates’ court facing charges of impersonating Lands, Agriculture and Resettlement Minister Perence Shiri to fraudulently acquire farmland which she later sold to unsuspecting buyers. She denied the charges. The court heard that Zimondi claimed to be daughter to Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) boss, Paradzayi Zimondi. But a lot of interest shall be centred on whether her once powerful mother, Chimene would finally decide to end nearly a year of self-imposed exile to attend her funeral.
