Chris Evans is a British artist based in London and a tutor at De Ateliers in Amsterdam. He was the bassist for the now-defunct band Life Without Buildings.^[1]

Biography

Evans was born in Eastrington in 1967. He studied graphic design at Leicester De Montfort University and completed a Master in Fine Art in 1993 at Winchester School of Art, which was located at their now-defunct annex in Barcelona. Since 2005, and on numerous occasions worldwide, Evans has invited representatives from national police forces to give recruitment presentations at art academies, including at the Pratt Institute, New York (2008), and at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremberg (2015). His work is held in various national collections including the Arts Council England,^[2]Sculpture International Rotterdam^[3] and the Lithuanian Parliament.

Chris Evans is an English artist, musician and editor. His work predominantly evolves through conversation with people from diverse walks of life, selected in relation to their public life or symbolic role. Sculptures, letters, drawings, film scripts and unwieldy social situations created as a result of this, are indexes of a larger structure through which Evans deliberately confuses the roles of artist and patron, author and muse.

His work has been featured in numerous exhibitions worldwide, with solo exhibitions at institutions that include: C.A.N. Centre d’Art Neuchatel (2018); Praxis, Berlin (2015); Project Arts, Dublin (2014); Marres, Maastricht (2010); Objectif Exhibitions, Antwerp (2010); the British School in Rome (2008) and Art Pace, San Antonio (2007). Christopher Leith Evans (born 1954), commonly credited as Christopher Evans or Chris Evans, is an American painter, matte artist, and visual effects art director for major motion pictures. Evans's paintings are characterized by a highly realistic representation of landscape, architecture, and the human figure. He has created more than 100 matte paintings for films such as E.T., Return of the Jedi, Star Trek II, III, and IV, as well as Titanic and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Evans was awarded a Primetime Emmy in 1985 for The Ewok Adventure and was nominated for an Academy Award in 1988 for Willow.

Before, during and after his career in film, Evans created many works of fine art and exhibited his work in several solo, group and public exhibitions. His first was in a 1980 group exhibition, "L.A. As Seen by L.A. Artists", at the Municipal Art Gallery in Los Angeles.
