Born in Staffordshire, England, Lara Jade first picked up a camera at the early age of fourteen – influenced by self-portraiture and conceptual photography. Growing up with the rise of social media and digital techniques enabled Lara to see the bigger picture of an international industry. After graduating college she made the move to London, where she naturally felt the transition to fashion photography. A couple of years later – she embarked on her first trip to New York and never looked back.

Lara enjoys creating timeless and emotive imagery. She is inspired by feminine strength, unique beauty and lasting style.

She currently resides in Brooklyn, New York with her husband James and regularly travels for assignments, working between NY, LA and London.

Being equally comfortable in front of the lens has led to several TV and digital appearances – including Emporio Armani, Longchamp, Karen Millen, Town & Country and Verizon. Features also include guest photographer on Poland’s Next Top Model and DigitalRev.

INTERVIEW // LARA JADE

We’re over the moon to have British Fashion photographer, Lara Jade join us at ARC. Lara works predominantly in both NYC & London but continues to travel the world to share her vision and experiences with an international audience. Starting photography at just 14, Lara tell us about her move to the US, shares some key lessons she’s learnt and why making connections and being memorable to your clients is so important. Lara shares where she finds her inspiration, how she remains organised and tells us more about her aim of raising awareness for female photographers worldwide.

HEY LARA! So thankful that you’d join us here at arc. let’s start at the beginning .. When did you know you wanted to be a photographer?

Lara also enjoys teaching & speaking at photography conventions and runs her own photography education business Lara Jade Education. Her love of education has been recognized by some of the largest brands in photography and most recently she was named a Canon Explorer Of Light.
